WHAT is the FC2?
The FC2 is a condom that is worn inside the vagina or anus and it protects against sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), including HIV, and unintended pregnancy.
- It is made from a synthetic rubber called nitrile
- It is available for free here in San Francisco at multiple locations and at a reduced cost at some Walgreen’s.
- The FC2 is the second generation female condom manufactured by the Female Health Company. The first generation was called FC1 or Reality Condom.
- The FC2 was developed to take the place of the FC1, providing the same safety and efficacy during use, but at a lower cost.
